We stayed there as a family for grandparents 60th wedding anniversary. Rooms were really nice, food was great, Chris and Sally were really friendly. We all had a fantastic time.
What a gem of a place this is with so much character coupled with excellent service and outstanding food. Nothing was too much trouble and Chris and Sally, the proprietors, were very welcoming and attentive. I would highly recommend.

We ate like a king and queen during our stay, high quality ingredients , presented well and delicious Chris the owner looked after us throughout our stay, top notch service, lovely friendly chap. Dad and I visit regularly and have consistently great meals, with lovely, friendly and efficient service. Can only comment on the tea rooms as we live local and have never stayed in the hotel. The menu is extensive but there’s something for every size of appetite. From simple toasted teacakes, to amazing home cooked Yorkshire puddings and full on cream tea. Everything is freshly cooked/baked using local fair. You can tell this is a well-run business by people who care. We love looking around the art gallery and gift shop too. And while it’s a cosy, atmospheric experience inside (I love looking down the well!), in summer there isn’t a nicer courtyard around from where to enjoy lunch. I only wish you were open evenings!
